Rolls-Royce launches bee sanctuary in Oman

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled a new bee sanctuary in Oman, a continuation of its commitment to environmental sustainability and biodiversity. The initiative, modelled after the successful Goodwood Apiary established in 2017, aims to protect and promote the bee population in the country.

Located in the picturesque Alila Jabal Akhdar, the Rolls-Royce Apiary in Oman features four beehives, each named after a Rolls-Royce model: Phantom, Ghost, Spectre, and Cullinan. The hives are specially designed to withstand Oman’s high temperatures and are home to Omani Queen bees.

“With the Rolls-Royce Apiary in Muscat, we will create a ‘buzz’ of activity across the country,” said Rachid Zamani, Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Muscat. “This initiative is very close to our hearts, and we are committed to maintaining Oman’s vital bee population and creating a refuge for these incredible creatures.”

Beyond the conservation efforts, the Apiary will also serve as an educational platform. Rolls-Royce plans to invite students, media, and clients to participate in Q&A sessions, apiary tours, and even hands-on beekeeping experiences. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of bees in the ecosystem and inspire people to take action to protect them.

The Apiary in Oman is a significant step towards preserving biodiversity and promoting environmental sustainability in the region. By protecting bees and educating the public, Rolls-Royce is contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future.
